Road work planned near new Walmart store in Pittsfield Township

By AnnArbor.com Staff

As Walmart prepares for its grand opening next Wednesday, drivers can expect to see lane closures in the area for associated road work.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission says intermittent lane closures will occur Saturday through Monday on Michigan Avenue from west of State Road to east of Old State Road, State Road north of Michigan Avenue, and Moon Road south of Michigan Avenue in Pittsfield Township.

The work will include intermittent lane closures with flag control around the Michigan Avenue intersection with State/Moon road. During that time, pavement will be placed.

Although at least one lane of traffic will remain open at all times, the Road Commission says traffic delays are expected. Some access to businesses and homes in the area also may be interrupted.

The road work is scheduled to be complete by Monday, but rainy weather could delay it.
