As the second day of the annual Rockin' for the Hungry comes to a close, Food Gatherers says more than 52 tons of food had been collected.

Food Gatherers’ goal is to bring in 200 tons of food during the campaign, which runs through Sunday at Busch's on South Main Street.

Busch’s participation includes the offering of pre-bagged quantities customers can purchase for $10 and give to program.

Outside the store, a Food Gatherers representative is set up with the broadcast team from ann arbor's 107one.

Food Gatherers is the area's largest food rescue and collection organization and has recently reported an acute need for more food.

Every year, the agency distributes more than 4.6 million pounds of food to more than 150 local non-profit organizations and agencies.
