Rockin' for the Hungry surpasses 38 tons of food
As the second day of the annual Rockin' for the Hungry got under way, Food Gatherers says more than 37 tons of food had been collected.
By 1:30 p.m., the number had climbed to 38 tons.
Food Gatherers’ goal is to bring in 200 tons of food during the campaign, which runs through Sunday at Busch's on South Main Street.

Busch’s participation includes the offering of pre-bagged quantities customers can purchase for $10 and give to program.
Outside the store, a Food Gatherers representative is set up with the broadcast team from ann arbor's 107one.
Food Gatherers is the area's largest food rescue and collection organization and has recently reported an acute need for more food.
Every year, the agency distributes more than 4.6 million pounds of food to more than 150 local non-profit organizations and agencies.

Why would you remove a comment saying to buy food from a store with reasonable prices? If the goal is to feed as many people as possible, then Busch's isn't the place to shop. Their prices are very high...this is a fact.

Hi! I stopped by Busch's and they have these pre-made bags for $10 and it's full of food. They're cheaper than buying stuff separately but you can also bring food from home or any store you like. You can give money, too, and I was told that Food Gatherers can buy food for even cheaper than at any stores. Wherever you get it or whatever you give to them is helpful.
