Police looking for escaped dog after rollover accident on US-23 that injured driver
Authorities are looking for an escaped dog that got loose after a single-car, rollover crash on US-23 north of Ann Arbor that sent its owner to the hospital Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. Saturday on the ramp connecting southbound US-23 to eastbound M-14 in Ann Arbor Township, near Barton Hills.
Capt. Lewis Kempf of the Ann Arbor Township Fire Department says that the driver lost control of her car, which went off the road, rolled over and landed back on the passenger side.
"We used the Jaws of Life to remove the roof of the car to get access to the driver," said Kempf. "She had a broken ankle and other injuries and was transported to U-M Hospital."
Windows were blown out during the accident, which allowed the driver's dog, a brown pit bull believed to be named Henry, to escape.
Michigan State Police have not been able to locate the dog and ask that anyone with information call them at 734-482-1276.
