Updated at 12:27 p.m. to reflect that lanes are now open

A rollover accident on Interstate 94 near Ellsworth Road on the south side of Ann Arbor closed the westbound lanes of the freeway Friday morning.

The accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m., and Michigan State Troopers were dispatched to the scene.

According to Huron Valley Ambulance Spokeswoman Joyce Williams, at least two vehicles were involved in the accident.

Williams said HVA transported two patients to University of Michigan Hospital. One victim was in stable condition and the other victim, transported by a second HVA unit, was in critical condition.

A Nixle alert from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office issued at 12:25 p.m. said that lanes had reopened.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

There are way too many accidents on the highways surrounding Ann Arbor. We need more enforcement, we need more lanes, and we need better designed on and off ramps.
