Saline schools holding book drive for middle, high school classroom libraries

Saline Area Schools is holding an adolescent literacy book drive Saturday to help secondary teachers build their classroom libraries.

Saline schools Superintendent Scot Graden, wrote in a blog post tht the books are needed in the Saline Middle School and high school.

The book drive will take place Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Liberty School parking lot at 7265 Saline-Ann Arbor Road.

“As all of you know, finances are tight for our school district and we need your help in securing more books, for all our middle and high school students,” the post says.

The district is looking for adolescent and young adult novels appropriate for students in grade 5 and older, including classics, contemporary works, poetry, drama, and other genres.

“We won’t turn away a book,” the blog says.
