Austin Road repaving in Saline Township slated to last five days

By Lisa Allmendinger

Repaving of Austin Road from the Saline city limits to a little west of Schill Road in Saline Township was scheduled to begin today and last about five days.

Traffic will be limited to one lane with a flagman while paving work is taking place, so motorists who drive in that area should expect delays, according to the Washtenaw County Road Commission.

The paving operations on Austin Road will extend from the city to 0.2 miles west of Schill Road, but access for residents, businesses and deliveries will be maintained.

The Road Commission reminds drivers and area residents that the scheduled five-day road work is weather dependent. Motorists are also asked to reduce speeds in construction areas for everyone’s safety.

The best thing to avoid long delays would be to take Saline Waterworks road to Parker rd then back to Austin Rd. Drive slow and carefully.
