Crash in Ohio kills 18-year-old Saline man, injures another
An 18-year-old Saline man died in a crash in Ohio on Friday and another was injured.
Erik E. Parks, 18, died in the crash, which occurred about 3:20 a.m. Friday on Jerusalem Road south of Toledo.
Parks was riding in the front seat of a westbound 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Andrew L. Roberts, 18, when the truck went off the north side of the road on a curve and hit the end of a guardrail, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Roberts was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo in stable condition, the press release said. Lt. John Altman said officers spoke to Roberts at the hospital Friday. He said the two were on their way back from New York State when the crash occurred.
Officers had not determined whether Parks and Roberts were wearing seat belts. Altman said the police investigation of the accident could take four to six weeks.
