Nice to see Saline have a parade for America. I wonder why Ann Arbor doesn't do something like this for vets... it being all progressive and enlightened and stuff.

I noticed you said nothing about the City of Ann Arbor holding a parade for vets who have provided America the freedom of Press throughout the years. At least Saline stepped up to the plate. Ann Arbor appears to give more glory and honor to hash bash people demanding their right to smoke pot.

The Glacier Area Homeowners Association holds an annual Memorial Day parade throughout the neighborhood, ending at Glacier Highlands Park for a memorial service. There is also an annual memorial service at Arborcrest Memorial Park.

Thanks for catching that, I believe that would be members of the American Legion post 322.

You've got to be kidding! The Saline HS marching band gives up part of their holiday and marches in 90 degree temperatures, and the only picture online is of their feet! they deserve a lot better than that--or don't put in a picture at all.

There are soldiers busting their butts in 120 degree heat in Afghanistan right now. As a member of the marching band I believe it is our duty to play in the parade. This day is to remember those who gave it all for our country.

A photojournalist would call this a detail shot, which is a close-up photograph that adds visual variety to the story and is something that passes most eyes. In this case, it is the band members shadows cast on the ground from their formation. The bands were great and deserve to be included in the gallery. Thanks for looking.
