Music is in the Air

By Leslee Niethammer

Spring is in the air, summer is just around the corner, the air is filled with birdsong, and the time feels just right to add your personal choice of music to the mix. Find those favorite recordings at the Saline District Library. Borrow or download something fresh and new!

The Library has music CDs for babies, children, youth, teens and adults. From lullabies to nursery classics, from holiday recordings to cultural recordings, from movie soundtracks to indie performers, from silly tunes to classical music - there are plenty of borrowing options to cater to a variety of tastes.

Saline District residents with a current library card can also download music with Freegal, a free service available at www.salinelibrary.org. Freegal provides access to thousands of songs and over 50 record labels. Cardholders are eligible to download three free songs per week. The songs don’t expire like borrowed downloadable audiobooks do. The music files are compatible with PCs, Macs, iPods, iPads, and MP3 players.

Music can energize or soothe, it can reflect one’s mood or change one’s mood. So add music to those daily commutes to work or to summer camps. Enhance summer vacation with free music of your choice from the Saline District Library.
