Playground equipment at Saline's Brecon Park vandalized

By Art Aisner

Profanity and other obscenities were written on playground equipment at Saline’s Brecon Park for the second time in six months, police reports say.

Officers responded to a call from a citizen about the graffiti on the merry-go-round at the park located at 397 Nichols Drive at about noon on Nov. 17.

They found multiple swear words, slurs and other vulgarities written in what appeared to be black and gold marker, reports said.

The city’s public works department cleaned off the graffiti and estimated damages at $50. No suspect information was available.

Police took a similar report of vulgar graffiti written in black marker on the same merry-go-round in May. No suspects were identified.

Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 734-429-7911 or e-mail Detective Don Lupi at dlupi@cityofsaline.org.

@Andrew "I guess, legally speaking, vandalism is the correct word. It still seems excessive for something so minor, though." I tend to agree with you on this. But I suspect it would not seem so minor if the "graffiti" were on one of our vehicles.

What? I thought after the Fifth Corner opened this stuff would stop.

it was certainly vandalism. It just isn't a big deal, that's all.

Oh no, vulgar words! Protect the children! Yes, people shouldn't write on public property. But "vandalized" is somewhat excessive terminology.
