Playground equipment vandalized at Saline daycare

By Art Aisner

Playground equipment outside a Saline daycare center was damaged by vandals over the Labor Day weekend, police reports said.

Officers were called to Annie’s Children’s Center at 211 Monroe St. on Sept. 7 because employees found several plastic playscapes overturned and moved out of place when they arrived at about 6 a.m.

They found one playset that was shaped like a boat cracked and several other pieces moved over to nearby tennis courts, reports said. Portions of the fence that enclosed the playground were bent or broken as well.

The damage occurred sometime between 7 p.m. on Sept. 3 and 6 a.m. on Sept. 7. Total damage estimates exceeded $600. No suspect information was available.
