Saline Board of Education will hold work session as second meeting of the month
Starting this month, the Saline school board will begin having one business meeting a month and one work session.
It’s not a new practice for the board, which previously conducted its business this way but got away from the practice in recent years, long-time board members said.
“What it does is allows us to discuss issues and come to a consensus before a vote,” said board member Lisa Slawson.
Board President Chuck Lesch said, "starting next meeting, we’ll go back to a previous format.”
Superintendent Scot Graden said with the “swift changes taking place in Lansing,” a work session will allow the board to discuss, understand and plan for new regulations.
The Saline Board of Education typically meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Liberty School. The next meeting is Sept. 27.
