Saline police get new leads on suspects in area hardware store thefts
Editor's note: Details on the items believed to have been stolen have been corrected.
An employee of Saline's Chelsea Lumber store recently spotted a man who resembled the suspect in the theft of a drill from the store last spring - and gave police the license plate of the vehicle he and a companion were riding in, according to a report in the Saline Reporter.
That new lead gives police more information on the suspect, who also is may have been involved - along with his companion - in the thefts of several pieces of merchandise worth about $1,400 from area hardware stores in 2011, police said in the report.

Why would I follow a link to the "real" article when I can be so misinformed right here? LOL

@dading, I am guessing that neither you nor (far more disappointingly) the writer of this article on AnnArbor.com ("Staff") actually read the article in the Saline Reporter (a link to which is provided at the end of the AnnArbor.com article). If the article actually had been read, you would have seen "Inventory was taken afterward and fourteen items were discovered missing, worth more than $1,400 total. The employee told police the suspect has visited the store several times in the past several weeks and she believes he is responsible for the missing items." Come on people, read the article before writing about it!

I know, dading, that is why it's important to read the story, not the report of a story (which is what is on the AnnArbor.com site here).

" in the thefts of several pieces of merchandise worth about $1,400 from area hardware stores in 2011, police said in the report." It helps to read the article.
