Saline police urge businesses to watch for woman who stole from hair salon
Saline police are warning businesses to be on the lookout for a woman who entered a hair salon and asked to use the telephone before stealing $100.
According a police report, the woman entered One on One Hair Styling, 199 W. Michigan Ave., at 3:51 p.m. Dec. 6 and asked to use the telephone. The 47-year-old Tecumseh woman working behind the counter allowed her to make two phone calls before the woman left the store.
The employee thought the encounter was strange, so she checked her wallet after the woman left and discovered $100 in cash was missing.
Police sent out an alert Tuesday afternoon, notifying residents of the incident and encouraging them to call police should they spot the woman.
The woman is described in the report as white, 5-feet-4 inches tall, 135 pounds, 40 years old, with collar length black hair. She was wearing a purple jacket and blue jeans. The woman was seen driving an older Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable that was white and appeared to be in good condition.
If anyone has information on this woman or knows of any similar incident to the one that took place on Dec. 6, contact Detective Don Lupi at 734-429-7911 or via email at email@example.com.
