Saline sets 2 forums for input in principal search

By Danielle Arndt

Saline Area Schools has invited the community to participate in one of two forums to share traits it would like to see in a new high school principal.

Both forums will be Feb 1. in the high school media center. The first is scheduled from 2:45-3:45 p.m. and the second from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The administration is seeking input regarding leadership qualities. Executive Director of Human Resources Curt Ellis said the feedback generated by students, parents, teachers and staff will be used to create a profile and job posting for the position.

The district has decided not to hire a search firm but rather to collect the resumes and conduct the interviews in-house, said Superintendent Scot Graden at Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting.

Surveys also have been created to assist in the collection of data. People are asked to complete their respective surveys online. One for parents and community members is available here and one for students is available here.

First, we need to see how applicants do on reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
