Second suspect charged in Saline safe robbery

By Art Aisner

A second man suspected of breaking into a Saline apartment to steal a safe has been charged with multiple felonies.

Joshua Morris, 19, was arrested at his parents’ home in Ann Arbor over the weekend by Washtenaw County Sheriff’s investigators who assisted with the case, Saline police Detective Don Lupi said.

He faces counts of unarmed robbery, safe breaking, home invasion and conspiracy. He will appear for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 21.

Police reports said Morris was one of the men that Andrew Wszolek let into an acquaintance’s apartment in the 800 block of Valley Circle Drive on Nov. 5. Morris allegedly held the acquaintance down while Wszolek and the other intruder ripped a bolted safe from the wall. Police have not identified the third suspect and did not find the safe.

Lupi said investigators identified Morris as one of the suspects shortly after the incident, but they hadn't been able to make contact with him.

Wszolek, 17, recently waived his right to a preliminary hearing and faces identical charges in circuit court on Dec. 22.

Can Ann Arbor.com tell the residents of Saline what became of the culprits of this crime? It would be nice to know if these criminals are off the streets so us elderly folks can relax a bit.
