Three-car crash sends 4 to hospital, 3 in critical condition

A three-car crash injured five people, three of them critically, just after midnight Tuesday morning near Saline.
The crash occurred at Moon Road and Michigan Avenue, Pittsfield Township firefighters said in a news release.
Firefighters had to extricate the driver of one vehicle from the wreckage with hydraulic rescue tools. Huron Valley Ambulance paramedics took him to the University of Michigan Hospital in critical condition.
Paramedics from HVA took front- and rear-seat passengers in another car, a Camaro, to St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor Hospital in critical condition. The driver was taken to U-M Hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the third vehicle was treated at the scene.
Saline firefighters also assisted at the crash.

When the light is blinking, it's a scary trip, particularly that many speed on Michigan Ave and I'm on Moon. I suggest not going to blink mode at any time.

THANK YOU to all that wished a speedy recovery. The three boys in the camaro were released this evening . but i don't no how the guy was or is doing that was in the other car. But i hope he is doing well. I did try to inquire about the fellow but they wont give you that info as you no if your not related. As i said That you All.

There are what..8 lanes to cross? The intersection has always been a tough one...the recent expansion makes for a more difficult crossing.

I worked there at the corner for many years and seen plenty of accidents there. One bank teller I used to know was in a rollover crash there. I was on the scene when a motorcycle rider lost his leg in a crash. Just a couple of examples and that before it was ever 8 lanes.

Ugh, screw that intersection. I know people personally who have been hurt there, I see people hurt there in the paper all the time. It's just dangerous. Here's to hoping for a speedy recovery of all involved.

I don't know what caused this accident, but no other traffic in the area is blinking after hours. Why is this one? This one should never be blinking! Look at the amount of bad accidents at this intersection after hours.

all lights in that area in both pittsfiled township and saline blink after certain hours. .

I disagree. That light should specifically be blinking after hours. There is no reason to impede US12 traffic flow at that intersection because of the visibility at that intersection. You can clearly see both directions on 12 for a good distance at that intersection.
