Power should be restored by late tonight to all customers who lost service during thunderstorms that moved through the Washtenaw County area Wednesday, DTE Energy spokesman Scott Simons said this morning.

A few hundred customers remain without power in Washtenaw County in scattered areas, Simons said. About 5,000 are still without power in DTE's Southeast Michigan service area.

After the storms moved through, about 5,000 customers had lost power in Washtenaw County and about 35,000 in DTE's service area, Simons said.

Better weather is in the forecast today. Residents can expect partly sunny skies and pleasant temperatures in the 70s and low 80s
