It is about time. Let's give our youth a chance to be young and not punish them for being young. Finally, it looks we have some adults who actually can think in a political institution.

Are overdose patients charged with possession? Just ridiculous.

This took long enough.... it's like we wanted our kids to die or something. Now if we could stop driving them to drink in the first place...

Great Idea! Now teens can get wasted and when the police approach all they have to do is request a ride to the hospital.

Why is it that people believe we always have to punish someone for a transgression? Haven't we learned yet that punishment doesn't work; it is not a deterrent. Let's try education. You never know. It might work. Everything else to date hasn't worked. I wonder if Donttasemebro is so perfect that he/she never errs? Or is it a question of selective crime and punishment? Maybe some day when we grow up, we may show a little compassion and comprehension for others who think and act differently than we do, and provide a few carrots to promote what we deem to be "good" behavior instead of always condemning it and punishing those who think and act differently than we do!

"As a society, we need to understand that people with underdeveloped brains don't make the right choice 100% of the time" I really don't see why you have to turn this important topic into an opportunity to bash liberals.

Don't make light of this. This is for underage drinkers who have passed the point of requesting anything. Teens have died because their friends were too drunk themselves and too afraid of law enforcement to get them help. That is not ok. There is something to be said about personal responsibility... but this is life and death. As a society, we need to understand that people with underdeveloped brains don't make the right choice 100% of the time. We shouldn't be more concerned with punishment than preservation of life.

Step in the right direction. If they could get to this point on this issue.......perhaps it would be a good time to gently bring up the issues concerning cannabinoids. Controlling personal choices by harsh penalties always proves counter-productive.
