Sentencing delayed for Ypsilanti Township man convicted of shooting into an occupied car
The sentencing for an Ypsilanti Township man convicted of shooting into an occupied vehicle near his former home was delayed Monday, officials said.
Bruce Lee, 35, was scheduled to be sentenced on convictions for assault and weapons-related felonies stemming from the May 24 shooting in the West Willow neighborhood.
However, court records indicate the hearing was adjourned to May 10.
Last fall, Lee settled a federal civil rights lawsuit against Washtenaw County for $1.375 million after a confrontation with sheriff’s deputies at a traffic stop involving a nephew in 2006. His brother, Clifton “Pete” Lee, 45, died of asphyxiation in a separate but related confrontation with deputies that night.
Court records show Lee pleaded no contest to those charges and being a four-time offender in March. Prosecutors agreed to drop attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon charges.Â
No one was injured in the shooting, which was prompted by a dispute over a woman.

It appears that Judge Morris has no qualm of early release and setting her record straight with the public that she believes that dangerous felons can and should be given multiple chances to show who and what they are at the expense of the public. I believe it was Jugde Morris who granted the early release of Rason Horton. A recap of season 18 America's Most Wanted will enlighten as Mr. Horton is featured. He was found guilty of gunning down the gas station attendant at Platt and Packard. As well as several other violent crimes. Thanks Judge Morris!

What the heck is the judge thinking? West Willow is a war zone, with the Lee family living there. He will be back in the court system, in just a matter of time. I suppose the jail is still crowded, so just let him be free until the next time he feels like shooting somebody. I just don't get it! No need to say anymore, it won't be printed.

One more case that begs for a new prosecutor and the retirement of judge Morris!
