4:55 p.m. update: The severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Washtenaw County until until 5:15 p.m.

At 4:11 p.m. Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Dexter... and moving east at 30 mph.

The warning area includes Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Saline, Milan, Belleville, Willis and Dixboro.

People in the warning area are advised to move to a room indoors on the lowest level of their home or business.
