Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Washtenaw County and other areas
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of southern, lower Michigan, including Washtenaw, Wayne and Livingston counties.
According to a NWS bulletin, numerous thunderstorms will develop today, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. The potential exists for isolated storms to become severe, containing damaging wind gusts of up to 60 mph and hail to one inch in diameter.
In addition, locally heavy rainfall will be possible during this time. The storms will be the result of a cold front that will slowly sag south through the area, the weather service said.
The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m. today.
There’s a chance of more showers and thunderstorms overnight, but the skies should clear up by 8 a.m. Sunday, the weather service said. Sunday’s forecase calls for partly sunny skies, with a high near 80.

Will these storms come before or after Snowmageddon? I've been sitting here with my boots on and my shovel in hand waiting for months now, and I don't see any snow.
