'Shop With A Hero' program in Pittsfield Township brightens holidays for needy families

As part of the Meijer "Shop With A Hero" program, the Pittsfield Township Department of Public Safety brought some holiday joy to area families last week.
On Tuesday, Dec. 15, 12 families were paired up with Pittsfield Township Public Safety personnel to shop for the holidays at the Meijer store on Carpenter Road.
The families were recommended by the schools and faith communities  in the township, which has participated in the program since 2004.
