Two and a half inches of snow had already fallen in the Ann Arbor area by noon Monday and another inch or so was expected before a winter weather advisory expired at 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Sarah Schultz, a meteorologist with the weather service, said the University of Michigan was reporting the two and a half inches just before noon.

The six-hour total of snow accumulation will likely reach about three inches, she said. A winter weather advisory issued early Monday morning is still set to expire at 2 p.m.

“It should start tapering off after that,” Schultz said.

The snow showers will continue throughout the week as temperatures hold in the lower to middle 20s.

"We'll keep having these clipper systems coming through," Schultz said. "We'll keep seeing these snow showers." There will be a break from the snow on Wednesday and a slight warm-up is expected at the end of the week.
