It's all about ideology. Not LOGIC! Got's to get that evil big govt and all those evil public servants out of the way of big business. Deregulate and cut taxes and we will be like China! How about we start a movement and demand that China join the civilized world and raise it's standards? And nobody in America ever thought of that solution!?

The last thing this state needs is to let the dairy industry regulate itself. Talk about letting the fox guard the hen house! I don't know if any readers here remember, but there was a huge problem with lax regulations here in Michigan in the 1970's that resulted in PBB getting into the food chain. This was a huge disaster that cost thousands of livestock, feed, and was suspected to be linked to causing cancer in people. http://www.michigan.gov/documents/mdch_PBB_FAQ_92051_7.pdf

to annarbor.com I would really like to see you guys press the governor on this issue. It is a matter of public health. I would like to know why he thinks this is such a non-issue that it's worth saving a few thousand dollars a year for.

So, Gov. Rick wants an industry, a food industry at that, to police itself. That is absolute stupidity. What's next, grud companies approving their own products?
