Today's downpour has delayed the start of a weekend repaving project on State Street in Ann Arbor, the city said.

The work is expected to start later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Work is planned from Stimson Street to Oakbrook Drive and will result in lane closures until at least Monday, the city's Project Management Unit said.

The city advises motorists to seek alternate routes if possible.
