Stephen Postema decides against run for Circuit Court Judge

By Cindy Heflin

Ann Arbor City Attorney Stephen Postema today said he would not run for Circuit Court Judge.

Postema, who indicated to the Ann Arbor Chronicle last August he was considering a run, said today he has been dealing with an ankle injury and therefore decided not to run at this time.

Local attorneys Douglas McClure and James Fink have both announced they are running. Attorneys Carol Kuhnke and Erane Washington attended a meeting of the Ann Arbor City Democratic Party in January to seek support for their election bids.

Washtenaw County Circuit Court judges Timothy Connors, Melinda Morris and Darlene O'Brien all have their terms end at the beginning of 2013. Morris is retiring at the end of her term.

I guess you'll just have to full back to your current job-your City of Ann Arbor gig as the highest paid city attorney in the entire state, when you give brilliant advice on how to dodge FOIA requests and rubber stamp all of the other half baked City schemes.

Sounds a lot like Julie creal resigns as Judge "ill health cited." Stephen Postema gets an ouchie.

Stephen Postema recently had a job review and didn't get a raise. Excuses, lame, people on cruches go to work and are expected to do a full days work, then go home and raise a family.

I enjoyed "can't run because of an ankle injury". If this were England, maybe he could "stand" for office. 8-)

An ankle injury prevented him from running! Where's the old college for the team? I hope when the ankle heals completely n whatever year, he'll be ready for the team.

Can't run because of an ankle injury? Don't give us such a lame straight line.

Ouch! Ouch! I hurt my ankle. I can't run for the bench. Maybe I can make it to the couch. Ouch! Seriously? Good thing he decided not to run. Too bad there isn't even one candidate so far worth putting on the bench....
