The Huffington Post reports that University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman received a 94 percent approval rating in a recent Glassdoor.com survey sent to university employees throughout the country.

The presidents of the University of Pennsylvania, University of Maryland, Yale University and Stanford University received 100 percent approval ratings in the survey, while the chief of the University of Washington at St. Louis received a 96 percent rating, according to the Huffington Post.

Coleman and Ohio State University leader Gordon Gee each received a 94 percent rating and are among the seven most popular university presidents.

The Huffington Post report is based off a September Glassdoor.com survey that asked employees if they approved of their chief leader's performance.

How fitting! The Liberal HuffPo and Mary Sue Coleman. 'Nuff said.

She might get that from "employees" especially if it wasn't annoymous. She absolutely wouldn't get that from alumni. The school has become a home for liberal extremists. It no longer represents the views of many of its alumni.

100% or even 94% approval ratings of university presidents on a survey sent to university employees throughout the country indicate that university employees are a fairly intelligent and prudent lot.

She is personable and full of energy. Her control mania and shifting of resources from units she doesn't care about or know much about to her personal pet units has a lot of the faculty happy to see her regime coming to an end. Some units that are important to the U's mission and reputation are demoralized and losing good people, and some donors are unwilling to give any further major gifts until she leaves. She could not succeed in another major development campaign.

"She could not succeed in another major development campaign." Disagree with you here. Over the last year, 288 million dollars were donated to the university. Coleman is doing great at raising much needed funds. I have a pretty strong feeling she would do fine in another capital campaign, although she will probably retire before then.

I am not sure that the same can be said of members of UM. Depending on one's point of view, there are conflicting opinions. Some, and I am one of them, think that she is taking the serious part of the university in a very poor direction. She is close to regents, football, and donors, but distant from, and in some cases dismissive of the faculty.

You are one of the 6%. Thats perfectly fine, but realize, that to most employees at U-M disagree with you.

A six month "reporting delay" of criminal child pornography by a Resident Doctor in the University system - and not a single person was fired... I'm sure that history makes her wildly popular among some.

What do you mean no one was fired? There were several people fired. Nice try though, but please check your facts next time.

President Coleman is a very elegant and fine lady first and foremost. Irregardless of your feelings toward U-M and any complaints that you may have, President Coleman always treats everyone she encounters with dignity and respect. While I did not participate in the "Glassdoor survey" I do indeed agree with the results. ,

"survey sent to university employees" Isn't this a little like asking the church choir if they like the minister?

I saw MSC at a football game.....she's a tiny little thing. How Gordon Gee could have that high of a rating is beyond me. Every time the guy opens his mouth something strange comes out.
