Sutton Road in Northfield Township reopened following culvert repair by Road Commission

By Lisa Allmendinger

Sutton Road in Northfield Township between Pontiac Trail and Northfield Church Road was reopened Tuesday by the Washtenaw County Road Commission.

The road was severely damaged by stormwater runoff during last week's rain.

The stretch of roadway was reopened following replacement of a damaged crossroad culvert and repair and restoration of the road.

It is nice Sutton road is fixed. How about Hellner between northfield church and joy! A lake over a foot deep keeps cars from going through. only school busses and trucks can pass.

I had no idea that Hellner Road still floods over near Northfield Church; I hope they still post Water Over Road signs at both ends of the water like they did when I used it years ago. Sounds like it could use drainage ditches or culverts that are not only put in, but maintained, too.
