Three arrested as Ypsilanti police recover gun, marijuana

By Lee Higgins

Ypsilanti police officers recovered a semi-automatic handgun and unspecified amount of marijuana as they chased down a man who ran from them Sunday night, a police incident log said.

The 23-year-old man fled from a Green Road apartment at about 8:41 p.m. after police responded to a report that he broke a window on his girlfriend's car, the log said.

The man dropped a backpack and jacket as he ran, the log said. Police found the backpack, which contained a gun and marijuana.

He was arrested at Peninsular Park.

Two other men also were arrested during the investigation, the log said.

One was a resident of the apartment, where police found baggies of marijuana on the floor, the log said. The other showed up at the apartment and was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a driving offense, the log said.

WOW! now our kids have made the educational system an all out Drug trafficaing and no hope for human life if someone tries to take his nickel-dime bag enterprise just to mainly support a weed/extacy addiction that our county need to address as a Disease and not a crime. Its a disease that eats our community and if yor not part of the solution then its you that are the problem when our kids rather kill to protect drug progits in school over life and education. these are are next community leaders not to mention world leaders that have no value for human life or regrets for the poison that they pump into our youth as a people/community/Leaders
