Three people injured in single-car crash in Lodi Township

By Art Aisner

Saline firefighters responded to the scene of single-vehicle crash that injured three people at about 3 a.m. today on Saline-Ann Arbor Road in Lodi Township, Fire Chief Craig Hoeft said.

The vehicle went off the roadway near Wagner Road and struck a tree.

One person was ejected and another was pinned in the vehicle until firefighters could cut them free. A third person walked away from the wreckage but was also injured, Hoeft said.

The person pinned in the vehicle was flown by University of Michigan Survival Flight helicopter to the hospital; the person's condition was unknown this morning. The others were taken by Huron Valley Ambulance, and their status wasn't immediately known.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash. Further details were not immediately available.

@ JustCelia- Nice to finally meet the neighbors, but not under these circumstances. I am also wondering if everyone is ok, considering the helicopter was landing less than 50 feet from all of us....Prayers to all the families....

Never good when life flight and ejection are in the same news story. I hope everyone will be ok. Also wondering about the accident that occurred in Saline on Rt 12 at Industrial before 11:30pm on Thursday Oct 6? I was hoping to learn what happened. I drove past the scene at about 11:15 pm. I saw at least 2 firetrucks, several ambulances, as well as numerous police cars from various departements (saline, pittsfield, sherriff). It didn't look too good. Its a good time for everyone to rethink safety on the roads.

Is there an update on this story? It happened right in front of my house and it was terrifying. Very concerned to see if these people are all right. Investigating crews didn't clear out and open the road until after 8AM.
