Traffic backed up on northbound US-23 after multiple vehicle crash

A multiple-vehicle collision has closed the left lane of northbound US-23 south of North Territorial Road, slowing rush hour traffic Tuesday afternoon.

Police were dispatched to the crash north of Ann Arbor at about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday after the crash was reported. No one was thought to be injured and police were on scene investigating the accident as of 5 p.m. Tuesday.

A Washtenaw County dispatcher said four cars were involved in the crash.

Dispatchers encouraged drivers to avoid the area as much as possible until the accident is cleared.
