Two people were injured in a two-car crash on Carpenter Road this morning that caused a portion of the road to be shut down for three hours, Pittsfield Township police said.
Police said the drivers of both cars were transported to the University of Michigan Hospitals with non-life threatening injuries sustained in the 10:30 a.m. crash.
Police said the crash occurred when a southbound vehicle driven by a 43-year-old Saline man attempted to make a U-turn on Carpenter Road, about one mile north of Bemis Road, and was struck by a vehicle that was following behind it. The second vehicle, driven by a 21-year-old Pittsfield Township woman who is pregnant, overturned, police said.
