Gov. Rick Snyder has appointed a businesswoman and a risk manager to eight-year terms on Eastern Michigan University's eight-member Board of Regents.

Mary Treder Lang, of Grosse Pointe Farms, and James "Jim" Webb, of Farmington, will join the board in January 2013. They replace Tom Sidlik and Roy Wilbanks, the current board chair and a former administrator of the Ypsilanti school.

Treder Lang is director of new business development for Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, a national accounting and advisory firm. She has served as business development manager for Accretive Solutions, as a senior executive for Siemens Building Technologies Inc. and as director of sales for Mosler Inc.

Treder Lang is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Dayton in Ohio.

Webb is chairman of Aon Risk Services Inc. of Michigan, a position he has held since 1981. Previously, he served as assistant risk manager for Republic Steel Corp., as assistant insurance manager for The Budd Company, and as a corporate insurance analyst for Masco Corp.

Webb is an emeritus member of the Eastern Michigan University Foundation board of trustees. He earned an associate degree in business administration from the College of the Sequoias in California, a bachelor's degree in management and a master's degree in business administration, both from Eastern Michigan University.

The appointments are subject to consent of the state Senate.
