Crowd gathers for dedication of new U-M law school building South Hall

By Cole Bertsos

Several speakers, along with U-M President Mary Sue Coleman, were on-hand at 3 p.m. at the law school's South Hall on Monroe Street to dedicate the new building, which opened last fall and is part of a $148 million renewal project at the law school.

Staff photographer Daniel Brenner was there to capture images from the event.

I'm not already familiar with this new building. Judging from the photographic content, I assume this South Hall thing is kind of a clear plastic tentlike structure?

"Equal Justice Under Law" and "Justice, the Guardian of Liberty" are already taken, so suggestions for an inscription over the South Hall entrance are in order. Certainly "Might Makes Right", "pecunia iustitia est", and "Advocate for Just Us" are too obvious. Suggestions?

She looks very much like John Lovitz. Don't you think?
