Unseasonably warm temperatures will continue for a few more days

By Lisa Carolin

Can't get enough of Saturday's perfect fall weather?

Ann Arbor area residents can look forward to more sunny weather with unseasonably warm temperatures through the middle of next week.

The summer weather combined with the traditions of autumn are keeping local apple orchards and cider mills busy.

At Wasem Fruit Farm on Judd Road near Milan, lots of people were out on Saturday, picking fruit and buying cider and donuts at the farm market.

"We're doing great business," said Jan Upston, one of the owners of Wasem's. "This weekend is normally a really good weekend for business because people can pick apples and pumpkins, and the weather is making it even better."

The high is expected to reach 81 degrees today with a low of 52 tonight. Highs are predicted in the upper 70s both Sunday and Monday and closer to 70 by midweek.

The average high temperature for October 8 is 65 degrees in Ann Arbor. Temperatures will move closer to that mark by Wednesday when the first good chance of rain occurs.

Loving this weather and loving even more the "cha-ching" of money in MY pocket and not the gas or electric company's pocket to keep my house comfortable. If it would only stay like this til December ..........

*Perfect* fall weather??? I went out to hunt yesterday and was swarmed with mosquitoes - even those big ones. We turned on the AC yesterday. Our normal high is in the 60s. This is perfect late August weather. Too bad it's early October.

I'm loving this! I hope it holds out through Halloween. (Well, maybe not necessarily this hot, but warm and dry would be a good thing.) Perfect yard-work weather! It may be a little on the hot side, but the alternative isn't so pretty...
