Marcus Tramale Jones, who was fatally shot in Ypsilanti Township’s West Willow neighborhood Feb. 26, died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Washtenaw County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Jones, 33, of Ypsilanti Township, was found lying in a yard in the 1300 block of Nash Avenue after residents reported hearing gun shots about 2:30 a.m. in the area of Nash Avenue and Mary Catherine Street.

Jones was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:05 a.m., said Kris Lamaire, administrative assistant at the medical examiner’s office.

Deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office investigate at the scene of a fatal shooting in Ypsilanti Township Feb. 26.

Lamaire said Jones also suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office continues to follow leads in the fatal shooting but has identified no suspects, spokesman Derrick Jackson told AnnArbor.com Friday.

A 29-year-old Inkster, resident and a 31-year-old Ypsilanti resident were injured in the shooting and were taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital by private citizens. Jackson told AnnArbor.com Friday that one of the men had been released from the hospital as of Thursday, though he did not know which one, and the other man is expected to recover from his injuries.

Jackson said "some form of argument happened" prior to the shooting, but he declined to comment further.

A funeral for Jones was scheduled for noon today at Ypsilanti's Second Baptist Church, 301 S. Hamilton St. The burial was to be at Knollwood Memorial Park, 1299 North Ridge Road in Canton Township.

Without help from the community these type of crimes are extremely difficult to prosecute. Whether it's fear or some type of "code" of keeping one's mouth shut the results will likely be a murderer on the streets knowing that there is safe haven in certain areas of town. Such a shame.

Truly sad - life is more important than "winning an argument" - at least I believe so. Wondering: why the two other victims apparently turned out to have no information on the perpetrator for investigators. Are they afraid of reprisals or just protecting someone under the "no snitch rule?"

Let me guess...no one saw a thing.

We need satellites pointed at certain neighborhoods to keep watch.
