Man reports armed men robbed him of wallet, keys, cell phone

By Cindy Heflin

Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed another man of his wallet, cell phone and car keys while he was sitting in his car in the 8000 block of MacArthur Boulevard in Superior Township on Monday morning, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.

The two men approached the victim while he was sitting in his car south of North Harris Road at 8:10 a.m., a Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office media summary said.

One man pointed a dark-colored revolver at the victim while the other man opened the passenger's side door and removed several pieces of property, including the car keys and a cell phone. The man with the gun then opened the driver’s side door and took the victim’s wallet, the summary said. Both men then fled the scene. There were no injuries.

The man who had the gun is described as a black man 18 to 25 years old, weighing 160 to 190 pounds. He had a dark complexion with a thin goatee on his chin. He was wearing all black clothing and a red or black handkerchief on his head.

A specific description was not available for the second man.

Anyone with information can call the sheriff's department tip line at (734) 973-7711.

You have to be careful sitting in your car on a dark night waiting for (2) men to approach? There is more to the story I'm sure.
