Washtenaw County health departments making more H1N1 flu vaccine available by appointment
Washtenaw County is pushing for residents who haven't yet received a swine flu vaccine to get vaccinated and will continue to distribute the vaccine by appointment through the end of the month.
Appointments for the free vaccine will be available at the Washtenaw County Public Health Department on Mondays and Wednesdays this month, excluding Jan. 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Appointments will be available between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Appointments will be available Jan. 11, 13, 20, 25, and 27. Those who walk-in without an appointment will be served as time allows.
The public health department office is located at 555 Towner Street in Ypsilanti. For more information or an appointment, call 734-544-6700.
No seasonal flu has been detected locally yet, but the county is encouraging residents to contact their health care provider or visit www.flu.gov to find the vaccine.
