A woman suffered a gunshot wound to the arm when someone fired shots in the 600 block of Villa Drive in Ypsilanti Township early Wednesday, the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department said.

A caller reported someone outside fired three or four gunshots into an occupied apartment on Villa Drive east of Leforge Road at 2:13 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said a 55-year-old woman inside the apartment was struck in the arm and was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery. None of the other apartment occupants was injured, police said. About five people were in the apartment at the time.

The suspect fled from the scene in a small, white four-door vehicle. Police have no suspect information at this time.
