Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies investigating 5 burglaries and one attempted burglary

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department is investigating five burglaries that occurred between Saturday and early Tuesday morning, including two on the same block in Bridgewater Township.

In the 1200 block of Wilbur Road in Bridgewater Township:

  • A side door to a pole barn was pried open, and a sandblaster, paint sprayer, weed whacker, leaf blower, tile cutter and miscellaneous tools were stolen. The incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Sunday.
  • The second break-in occurred between midnight and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The overhead door to the garage was pushed open. A snow blower, XM radio, generator, stereo equipment, tools, jacket and jewelry were taken.
Three other break-ins occurred in Ypsilanti Township:

  • Between 3 p.m. Saturday and 5:45 a.m. Sunday, someone burglarized a home in the 600 block of Villa Drive, east of Leforge Road. The sliding glass door to the home was broken and a game system and miscellaneous video games were taken.
  • The second burglary occurred between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m Sunday in the 700 block of Browning Court. A TV and a cable box were taken after the front door was forced open.
  • Deputies responded to a burglary that occurred between midnight and 8 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of Crestwood Avenue, west of South Harris Road. The rear door to the home was forced open, and two television sets were stolen.
An attempted burglary occurred between midnight and 12:20 p.m. Monday in Superior Township in the 6000 block of Vreeland Road, west of Leforge Road. The front door frame was broken and someone attempted to pry the door open, but entry was not gained.
