Washtenaw County under a tornado watch until 1 a.m. Thursday
Washtenaw County is under a tornado watch until 1 a.m. Thursday, with the possibility of 70 miles per hour winds and hail up to 2.5 inches in diameter, according to the National Weather Service.
The watch went into effect at 6 p.m. Wednesday over an area extending 60 miles northeast of Oscoda to 35 miles southwest of Jackson, according to NWS.
The NWS stated the storms are moving at about 50 miles per hour and the most severe thunderstorms will be to the southeast of the front, with gusts up to 80 miles per hour.

That's a VERY long front if it extends from above Oscoda to 35 miles SW of Jackson. Batten down the hatches!
