Watch the Pure Michigan video featuring Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti
The Pure Michigan video filmed in 50 cities, including Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, officially premiered today during halftime of the Detroit Lions' home opener.
A scene from the video shoot last month in Ypsilanti.

The video, at 3 minutes, 44 seconds long, flips through a multitude of recognizable Michigan locales as residents sing along to a modified version of the song “Good Time” by Owl City and “Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen.
The Ann Arbor portion of the video was shot at the Michigan Stadium and featured 40 members of the University of Michigan Marching Band, 40 cheerleaders and 25 dance team members.
More than 100 people showed up for the Ypsilanti shoot at the water tower on Cross Street to participate in a 5-second clip to be featured in the promotional video.
Watch the the full video above or fast forward to see Ann Arbor at the 2:23 mark and Ypsilanti at 3:20.

Why did Ann Arbor have just an elite few allowed in Michigan stadium, versus a huge gathering of average folks in Ypsilanti? It's stiking in the video. Go Ypsi! Representing community togetherness.

It does a great job of communicating what a beautiful and diverse state this is. Good Work. Now, how do we all work together to preserve what we love about Michigan?

the Marquette lyric is actually very thoughtful... "Woke up with the best view from my bed " it fits the city, and it fits that location. the sunrise from that spot is amazing.

I like it and incredible effort but the story arc of not building to bigger ending was a huge fail. I'm sorry, if you go to this much effort and resources and thats the best you can do? It needs to show the locations better and that might mean fewer locals singing . The Grand Rapids lipdub is still better mostly because it builds to a ending.

In total -- how many people are in the video? Putting this together could not have been easy.

I am impressed. This is really, really nice. Energy, passion, fun.... very very nice. Great variety as well. I'll still give Pure Michigan some grief for screwing over the UP.... the 7 day, 50 city statement sounds more like an excuse to me. but for the work that Bliss did... the editing / filming / energy... it's brilliant.

Er, right, Sault (spell checker). I love the U.P., been all over it, but they were going for population centers and nationally recognized tourist attractions.

They omitted the Keewanaw. They omitted Porcupine Mountain and they omitted Manistee and Marquette. This is how they messed up the UP. I love the UP and well, guess I am going to have to do some more site seeing up there.

here's a map of the locations http://tinyurl.com/983umqn zoom out and you'll see the rest of michigan and how it was ignored. i'll give kudos to the UofM marching band... they included it. that was really nice. i'll also give kudos that they were kayaking at pictured rocks. that was nice. but for a $25 million campaign, i'm sure Pure Michigan could afford the gas to drive further north and visit the rest of Michigan that it forgets.

there's a lot more to the UP than that. i have to wonder how many from pure michigan have actually visited Isle Royale, Copper Harbor, Houghton, Porcupine Mountains.... ? btw... it's Sault Ste. Marie, or the 'Soo'

How did they screw over the U.P.? Marquette, Sioux Saint Marie and Pictured Rocks were all in there.
