A media spotlight shone on a Washtenaw County courtroom Monday as the case of Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Wade McCree went before the Judicial Tenure Commission.

McCree, who is accused of having an affair with a woman who had a child-support case pending in his court, faces possible suspension, censure or removal from office.

The hearing began Monday morning in the Washtenaw County Courthouse in downtown Ann Arbor, the Detroit Free Press reported.

If you want to listen in to every detail of the hearing, you can watch it live courtesy of the Detroit Free Press, and WDIV, which are streaming it from the courtroom.

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission has charged McCree with two counts of improper conduct, false report of a felony, improper bench conduct and demeanor and misrepresentations to the commission, according to the Free Press.

The hearing is expected to last several days, according to media reports.

McCree also ran into trouble last year with the state Supreme Court for sending a shirtless photo of himself to a female court employee.

At least this was consensual. You can google Judge Julie Creal's Sexual Harrassment that was in Nov., 21, 2011 Ann Arbor News. And why did 15th District Court/City of Ann Arbor get away with only paying $82,000.00 +. Like it says in the article, "Completely ignored by those who were suppose to investigate them."

"McCree also is accused of sending text messages that contained inappropriate or derogatory comments about people who appeared before him in court. "C'mon, U'r talking about the 'docket from hell,' filled w/tatted up, overweight, half-ass English speaking, gap tooth skank hoes ... and then you walk in," McCree allegedly wrote in a text sent to Mott from the bench." Definitely someone we don't need judging us.

Why is the trial in Washtenaw Co Circuit, it's not a federal case?

Federal cases are not tried in the 22nd Circuit Court (Washtenaw County). Considering McCree is a Wayne Circuit Court judge, I'm guessing they wanted the case moved to a neutral venue, not in his own district.

Interesting choice of photo to accompany this story. Is that the Judge's official bench portrait?
