Batten down the hatches, Washtenaw County — and the lawn furniture. A wind advisory in effect until 8 p.m. today could bring gusts up to 45 miles per hour.

The strongest winds are expected around noon before a high pressure front starts to build, according to the National Weather Service. The service warned that driving top-heavy vehicles could be difficult during the gusty winds.

And that's not all. Up to an inch of snow accumulation is possible overnight, with more snow in the forecast Monday morning, the weather service said.

The low temperature tonight is expected to be 31 degrees, warming to 46 degrees Monday.

The rest of the week's outlook holds a mix of thunderstorms, rain and sun, with highs in the low 50s.

All right, this is getting ridiculous. It's like we're living in the U.P. - not southern Michigan! So far, this is probably the coldest early spring I can remember for a number of years. On the bright side, May will likely be a pretty month with a lot more flowers and trees in bloom.
