Snow Tuesday and Wednesday could make travel difficult in the Ann Arbor area.

It won't be anything like the storm that walloped the East Coast over the weekend, but a wintry blast is headed our way.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Washtenaw County from 10 a.m. Tuesday through Wednesday morning.

The Weather Service said light to moderate snow will fall during the daylight hours Tuesday and will become heavier overnight. Total accumulation of 6 to 10 inches is expected.

The storm will also bring winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph Tuesday night and Wednesday, causing blowing and drifting of snow, the Weather Service said.

A winter storm watch means there is potential for significant snow accumulation. The watch area includes all of southeast lower Michigan.

Not too many posters here work outdoors, I'm guessing. Try driving a semi to deliver stuff in this weather, wheeling carts of heavy loads in 6"-10" of snow. There are people in the world who have to work outdoors in this stuff. It's not fun. Also hope that people remember the elderly when it comes to clearing walks and drives.

Seriously, even if its only 6 inches of snow, that would be great. Echo Base has almost completely melted, and the sleds in the garage have been giving me dirty looks every day.

Why can't this happen on a weekend when I don't have to drive to work?;)

You heard it here first.....4 inches total. (Usually when I predict 12 it ends up being 4, so I am trying to reverse the trend)

I like Billy Mays' report better. If we get winds from the west I'll never make it down one of the dirt roads that I live off of? 8-) The drifts are terrible.

Does Wxcaster have any credibility? All he says about himself is that his name is Earl. If he is correct, however, that latest update shows us getting up into the 14" range.

With luck, this will quieten my southern relatives who are boasting that they've had to deal with more snow this year than we have.

OK, road crews. We have plenty of warning and road salt. Not much has been spent on clearing roads this winter. All signs point to efficient and timely clearing. Rock on!
