The advisory says light snow will begin during the evening, then increase in intensity overnight. Warmer air will turn the snow into sleet and then rain by Wednesday morning.

Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are expected. Heavier amounts of 6 to 9 inches are predicted across Bay and Midland counties.

The winter weather advisory will be in effect until 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials say drivers should be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
