Woman rescued from car in Ypsilanti escapes with minor injures
A woman in her 40s was pinned in her Ford Focus after it was struck by another vehicle on Washtenaw Avenue near Oakwood Street in Ypsilanti around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The Ypsilanti Fire Department needed to use extrication equipment to pry her from the car. She was transported to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital with minor injuries and soon released.
According to Capt. Michelle Stanbury of the Ypsilanti Fire Department, a vehicle headed west on Washtenaw Avenue T-boned the Focus, trapping the woman inside.
“She was stuck in the car,” Stanbury said. “We had to cut the door off.”
The woman had minor lacerations. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.

"The driver of the Jeep was uninjured." I take it that was the other vehicle? This could have used a tad more proof-reading.

"A woman in her 40s..." I'm puzzled. What does her age have to do with anything? Seems odd to lead off a story that way.
