I was born and raised in Ypsilanti and other than my years at Ypsilanti High School, I have never been exposed to violence or felt unsafe. Things seem to be changing though. There have been an increasing number of shootings and other violent acts in and around Ypsilanti over the last few years. The perception of crime in Ypsilanti may be justified.
